Apprenticeship as Cutting Machine Operator / Machining Mechanic (m/f/d)

Overview of the apprenticeship
The first year of training will take place with our training partner at the SMS group GmbH learning workshop in Hilchenbach.
From the mid-term exam onwards, you will work in maintenance at our company in Hilchenbach, where you will also complete your final examination.

The theoretical content is taught weekly (once a week) at the Technical Vocational College in Siegen and in practical lessons at SMS group GmbH, including technical English and exam preparation.

Focus areas of the apprenticeship:

  • Planning manufacturing processes
  • Programming numerically controlled machine tools or manufacturing systems
  • Setting up machine tools or manufacturing systems
  • Planning and preparing work tasks
  • Manufacturing and machining machine parts
  • Assembling, adjusting, and testing machine assemblies

Requirements:

  • Educational qualification: Secondary school diploma (“Fachoberschulreife” / “Mittlere Reife”) with good math skills and spatial awareness
  • Enjoyment of precise work
  • Interest in technology and understanding of functional relationships
  • Independent working style
  • Carefulness and a high level of responsibility
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability

Start and duration of the apprenticeship:
Starting August 1, 2024 / Duration: 3 ½ years

Quality Assurance Specialist for Complaints Management (m/f/d) – Full-time

The scope of duties includes:

  • Handling complaints (8D)
  • Conducting process and product audits according to VDA
  • Initiating immediate corrective actions
  • Supporting departments in root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • Supporting/implementing targeted measures to eliminate errors
  • Effectiveness verification of corrective actions

Our requirements:

  • Completed vocational training (commercial/technical)
  • Several years of professional experience, ideally in quality assurance (QA) or quality management (QM) and conducting process and product audits
  • Confident handling of MS Office products and ERP systems
  • Good English skills

Industrial mechanics enjoy great respect in our company. Your tasks will include independently performing inspection, maintenance, and repair work. But with increasing digitalization in all industrial fields, you’ll also handle software-based recording and processing of orders within the WSH company.
