In principle, the possible geometry of a cold-formed part is influenced by the formability parameters of the underlying material and the number of forming stages in the production process. Various forming processes are available for manufacturing in cold forming. By skillfully combining these processes, extremely complex geometries can be produced. In combination with an extensive range of equipment, WSH has already demonstrated its technical expertise in the production of high-quality precision parts, primarily for the automotive industry.
Our engineers have special software, such as calculation programs and 3D CAD, at their disposal to develop the forming sequences, with the help of which the geometries of the individual forming stages are designed. Forming simulations based on the finite element method (FEM) can be used to check the previously created forming sequence for manufacturability. Extensive data, such as material flow, force requirement and tool load, can be taken from the system. In most cases, this eliminates the need for time-consuming and expensive preliminary tests.
Using laser-sintering technology, we can supply geometrically usable installation samples made of plastic (also fiber-reinforced), metal and flexible materials for preliminary tests within a very short time.
